MealTime Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MealTime iOS app, the MealTime share extension, related links and pages under getmealtime.com, and related services, features, content, and software provided with MealTime (collectively, the "Service").
By downloading, accessing, or using MealTime, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use MealTime.
If you are using MealTime on behalf of an organization or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind that person or organization to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
MealTime is developed and published by the individual developer behind the MealTime app ("MealTime", "we", "us", or "our").

2. Eligibility and Account Use
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use MealTime with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You may use MealTime through:
- an anonymous account;
- an email/password account;
- Apple Sign In; or
- Google Sign-In.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of your device and account credentials;
- keeping your account information accurate;
- all activity under your account or shared devices; and
- using the Service only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
You may not impersonate another person or create an account using false or misleading information.
3. The Service
MealTime helps users:
- save and organize recipes;
- import recipes from links, text, images, screenshots, and dictation;
- generate meal plans, grocery lists, and AI-assisted cooking suggestions;
- manage cookbooks, favorites, and profile information;
- share recipes, cookbooks, grocery lists, and meal plans; and
- access premium features through paid subscriptions or trials.
We may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, to the extent permitted by law.
4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing
MealTime may offer free tiers, free trials, premium subscriptions, or other paid features.
If you purchase a subscription through Apple:
- payment is charged through your Apple account;
- subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period;
- your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period;
- you can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings; and
- any refund requests are handled by Apple, except where otherwise required by law.
If a free trial is offered, your subscription may automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Premium access, entitlement status, trial periods, and subscription metadata may be managed through third-party subscription infrastructure, including RevenueCat and Apple systems.
We may update subscription features, pricing, packaging, or eligibility at any time, subject to applicable law and the rules of the App Store.
5. User Content
You may submit, upload, create, store, or share content through MealTime, including:
- recipes;
- notes;
- ingredient lists;
- photos and screenshots;
- profile photos;
- grocery lists;
- meal plans;
- transcribed text generated from on-device dictation;
- AI prompts and chat content; and
- other text, images, or materials you add to the Service
("User Content").
You retain your rights in your User Content, subject to the rights you grant below.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, display, adapt, process, and use your User Content as necessary to:
- operate the Service;
- sync and back up content;
- provide imports, AI features, and collaboration features;
- display and share content at your direction;
- maintain security and prevent abuse; and
- improve and support the Service.
This license ends when your User Content is deleted from our active systems, except to the extent retention is reasonably necessary for backups, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or shared-content functionality.
6. Your Responsibilities for Content
You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit or share through MealTime.
You represent and warrant that:
- you own the content you submit or have the rights needed to use and share it;
- your content and use of the Service do not violate any law, contract, or third-party right;
- your content does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- your content is not fraudulent, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful; and
- your content does not contain malware, malicious code, or harmful material.
You may not use MealTime to store, process, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, sexually exploitative, or otherwise objectionable.
7. Imported and External Content
MealTime allows you to import recipes and related content from third-party sources, including websites, social platforms, messages, notes, screenshots, and photos.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to import, store, and use that content. MealTime does not guarantee that imported content is accurate, complete, lawful to reuse, or free from third-party rights restrictions.
If MealTime links to or fetches content from third-party services, those services remain subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, services, websites, or platform rules.
8. AI Features
MealTime includes AI-assisted features, including recipe extraction, ingredient analysis, meal generation, meal planning, and chat-based assistance.
AI-generated content is provided for general informational and convenience purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional nutritional, medical, dietary, or allergy advice.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated or AI-processed outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your needs;
- you are responsible for reviewing all AI outputs before relying on them;
- MealTime does not guarantee the correctness of imported or AI-generated recipes, ingredients, nutrition values, cooking times, dietary suitability, allergen safety, or meal plans;
- AI features may use third-party AI service providers to process your requests; and
- you should use independent judgment before cooking, serving, storing, or relying on any output.
**Allergen and health warning:** MealTime does not verify allergen information, nutritional accuracy, or food safety of recipes or AI-generated content. If you have food allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary restrictions, always verify ingredients independently. Never rely solely on MealTime for allergen or dietary safety.
9. Sharing and Collaboration
MealTime includes collaboration and sharing features, including share links, share codes, imported shared recipes, and shared cookbooks, grocery lists, and meal plans.
If you share content through MealTime:
- you authorize us to make that content available to the people who receive the link, code, or invitation;
- anyone with access to the relevant link or code may be able to view, join, import, or use the shared content, depending on the feature;
- your display name, profile image, and contributions may be visible in shared spaces; and
- you are responsible for the consequences of sharing.
We are not responsible if you share content with the wrong person or if a recipient further distributes content that you chose to share.
10. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- use the Service in violation of law or regulation;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems;
- scrape, harvest, reverse engineer, copy, or misuse the Service except as permitted by law;
- upload or distribute malware, spam, or malicious code;
- use the Service to infringe others' rights;
- use the Service to generate or distribute unlawful, dangerous, or abusive material;
- share access credentials or use another user's account without permission; or
- misuse free trials, subscription entitlements, invites, or sharing systems.
We may investigate violations and take action, including removing content, suspending features, revoking sharing access, or terminating accounts.
11. Privacy
Your use of MealTime is also subject to the MealTime Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and disclose information.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service, including the MealTime app, software, design, branding, visual elements, and related materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you by implication or otherwise.
13. Feedback
If you send us suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback for any lawful purpose without compensation to you.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
You may delete your account through the in-app account deletion feature in Settings. Upon account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or disassociate your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service if:
- you violate these Terms;
- your use creates legal, security, or operational risk;
- we are required to do so by law; or
- we discontinue the relevant part of the Service.
Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive, including provisions about subscriptions already accrued, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute terms, and Apple-specific terms.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
We disclaim all warranties, express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not guarantee that:
- the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
- content will be preserved without loss;
- imports will succeed or be accurate;
- AI outputs will be correct, safe, or suitable;
- sharing links or collaboration features will always function as expected; or
- premium features will be available at all times.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MealTime and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, content, business opportunities, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid to us, if any, for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- fifty U.S. dollars (US$50).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
17. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MealTime and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and service providers from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to:
- your User Content;
- your use of the Service;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your violation of any law or third-party right.
18. Export and Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that:
- you are not located in a country or region subject to a U.S. embargo that would prohibit your use of the Service; and
- you are not on any applicable U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You agree not to use the Service in violation of export-control or sanctions laws.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ukraine, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under mandatory consumer-protection laws that may apply in your country of residence.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice in the app, through the Service, on a related website, or by other reasonable means.
By continuing to use the Service after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

22. Apple App Store Additional Terms
If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply:
- These Terms are between you and the publisher of MealTime only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for MealTime or its content.
- Your license to use MealTime is limited to a non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, subject to the App Store usage rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for MealTime.
- To the extent any warranty exists and is not effectively disclaimed, Apple is not responsible for it beyond any refund rights it may provide under App Store rules or applicable law.
- The publisher of MealTime, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to MealTime, including product claims, legal or regulatory claims, consumer claims, privacy claims, and intellectual-property claims.
- In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using MealTime.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you to the extent permitted by law.
23. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any policies or additional terms that apply to specific features, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, except where additional agreements expressly apply.
